ROTARY CLUB OF MYSTIC

ANNOUNCES

RECIPIENTS OF THE 2017 SPRING GRANT CYCLE

The CONTRIBUTIONS COMMITTEE of the ROTARY CLUB OF MYSTIC recently awarded $7,910 to local 501(c)3 organizations that applied during the 2017 SPRING GRANT CYCLE

Twelve local organizations (see listing below) were the recipients and the grant money provided will assist a wide-range of programs serving individuals, ranging from school age to adult.

The ROTARY CLUB OF MYSTIC offers two grant cycles a year.  The opening of the 2017 FALL GRANT CYCLE will open on September 25, 2017 and close on March 31, 2017.

The application process was recently updated and automated to streamline the entry for organizations and to allow a quicker response time on behalf of the Rotary Club.  All directions and application may be accessed from the Rotary Club of Mystic website www.mysticrotary.org and then “clicking” on Contributions Committee then Rotary Grant Request.

Chartered on June 8, 1954, the Rotary Club of Mystic has spent years raising money to then turn back to the Mystic/Stonington area in the form of grants, scholarships and international Rotary Foundation projects.

The motto of Rotary – “Service Above Self” helps define our membership and allows us to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis for worthy enterprise and in particular, to encourage and foster:

First:

The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

Second:

High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to service society;

Third:

The application of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to their personal, business and community life;

Fourth:

The advancement of international understanding, good will and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of service.
