The Rotary Club of Mystic Grant Application Process and Instructions


The Rotary Club of Mystic provides hundreds of volunteer hours to many community services and, through its annual fundraising events, returns over $20,000 to the local area in form of grants and scholarships.


Our largest fundraiser is the Mystic Half Marathon. This amazing half marathon course showcases Connecticut’s premier waterfront town. Starting and finishing at the Olde Mistick Village, the tour will bring you past the Mystic Seaport, over the Mystic Draw Bridge, along stunning River Road, and down classic New England country roads.


The next scheduled Mystic Half Marathon is to be held on Sunday, May 15, 2016The run has been approved and expanded for up to 2,000 runners. 


In addition, funds are raised by selling Del’s Lemonade at the Mystic Arts Festival and the Taste of Mystic.  All net proceeds from these fundraising events are distributed to local charities and scholarships supported by the Club.


Twice a year, the Mystic Club donates funds to local non-profit organizations, primarily serving the Groton, Mystic, Stonington area. Organizations are encouraged to apply for grants from the Contributions Committee in the range of $250 to $1,000.  Applications are reviewed on the basis of need, number of clients being benefited and the area served.


(All applications, regardless of amount requested, will be assessed individually). 


Applications for the 2016 spring cycle open FEBRUARY 22, 2016.  Applications must be postmarked on or before March 31st (for the spring cycle) or October 31st (for the fall cycle).


Our application has been updated and you are encouraged to read all directions prior to completing the grant request.



Some things to know before you begin:


  • ·         Applications should be PRINTED from the website


  • ·         Please PRINT or TYPE  when completing application as handwriting can be difficult to read


  • ·         All spaces indicated with a notation of  (Required) must be filled in


  • ·         Applications must be mailed via U.S. Postal Service as postmarked dates become critical in decision making


  • ·         NO applications may be submitted online, delivered by hand, or otherwise submitted except by U.S. Post Office delivery
